Videos are where it’s at
If you have stayed current in your knowledge with social media, then you know that videos get the most love on social with those illusive algorithms. And if you haven’t stayed current, then I’m here to tell you that you should be creating videos.
But this episode isn’t about that….
Ok, audio is pretty powerful too
While video is the champ on social, podcasts are a growing area of original content distribution. There is a lower barrier to entry to create podcasts (vs. video).
I don’t know about you, but I’m subscribed to 18 different podcasts. I could probably subscribe to more, but I’m trying to keep myself in check.
Here’s the point
We all need to be creating some type of original content. Hopefully, you have chosen video or audio. And if you have, then your library is constantly growing.
You spent valuable time creating this original content, so you shouldn’t want it to be collecting dust.
How do you search through your content?
This is where today’s tool comes into play: Searchie*
Searchie is a tool that the makers of Tribe (an online membership creation course) came out with to make their massive video content searchable. Then they thought “Hey, if we need this, then others must need it too!”
I was fortunate to be one of their founding members, so I got in with their initial launch to the public (their beta testers came from their own membership program which I’m not in).
It’s a huge time saver
If you have lots of video or audio content, this tool can help reduce time you spend finding content for your users. They can now do searches to find what they are looking for on their own.
We have this podcast automatically pulled in and indexed each week. Want to check it out? Check out the right side column (on desktop) or just above the footer (on mobile) and you can search any term for this podcast.
We use it in our Society too
Pretty much all the lessons in our Society are videos. We are also using Searchie inside our membership, so members can search through the content to find the exact video they are looking for.
If you have any questions about Searchie, feel free to let us know. We’d love to help answer your questions, and if we don’t know the answer we will certainly find out for you.
Until next time…
