Should you get into Podcasting?
Not everyone needs to start a podcast. However, before you decide podcasting is not for you, think about the benefits it could bring to your business.
Podcasting is one of the fastest growing methods for brands to share their messaging and knowledge. 80% of Listeners listen to most or all of an episode. That is some seriously captured attention!
I start out by covering some foundational information in the beginning of this episode (just laying a little groundwork) before I hop into the 4 essential things you need to get started with Podcasting.
And those foundational pieces you need to do before getting started are:
- Know your audience – check out our earlier episode on Creating Your Client Persona.
- Determine your theme/topic.
- Decide on the format you want to follow.
4 Essentials for Podcasting
Then I go over the 4 main things you need to be able to start creating your own podcast:
You don’t need to break the bank and buy the most expensive microphone out there. In fact, I share a practically free microphone you can use!
And finally, be sure you have your artwork figured out before you get started, so you aren’t scrambling at the last minute trying to create something to throw up there (yeah, speaking from personal experience right now).
A great way to get this done easily is to use our favorite (non-graphic designer) image editing tool: Canva.
Summing it up…
As you can see, it really is quite easy to get into podcasting. With technology making advancements each year, you don’t need an engineering degree to get started (no offense to our sound engineers out there, you are definitely still needed!!).
